As One, whose real name is José Zaino Zauad, was born in France in 1985. He began his solo music career in 2000, building a strong presence in Guinea-Bissau’s urban music scene.
In 2018, he released his debut album and made history by selling out the country’s largest national stadium, drawing over 45,000 people a landmark moment in his career.
In 2021, he broke another record at Estádio Lino Correia in Bissau, once again performing to a full-capacity crowd.
Despite the limited recognition structures for Guinean artists, As One has earned notable awards:
