After releasing their debut album Out of Sorts in 2012, the members of Atta Boy spread across the country pursuing their individual dreams. Years passed with a few mentions of trying to record another album, but those ideas fell along the wayside. In late 2019 Lewis (drums) sent a text to the rest of the group declaring that a new record will happen. Dashel (piano) and Eden (vocals) quickly responded with confirmations. Freddy (guitar) called Atta Boy’s engineer/guru Jason Hiller (bass) to try to lock down studio dates so no one could back out of the agreement. Months went by with voicememos cluttering the group text. Sections of songs were written and sent back and forth. January had finally arrived and the band was anxious to get back together.
