In the spring of 2025 we began building an off-grid homestead in the Boreal Forest of Newfoundland, Canada. We started with an acre, a shed, some goals and dreams, and a 30 year old cabin. No power, no running water (besides the brook next to us), no previous experience. We spent all of our savings to get us here, escaped 9-5 city life. Now the real work begins. Homesteading and homeschooling, silly animals, bees, ferral children, endless woods to explore, and a brook that runs through it. Welcome to Berkana Brook Homestead. I am Alicia.
