Andy Garrett's interest in music began at age 9 when he won a school competition to conduct the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra. He then took up the guitar at age 10, wrote/copyrighted his first song at age 13, and began teaching at age 16 for the Palmer School of Music. He helped his high school music ensemble win a first place trophy in a regional competition at age 17; and age 22 he then wrote, recorded, and produced his first EP with the band Horizon. Shortly after this, Andy landed a job at a major guitar-string company (Dean Markley/American Winding) as their string-tester/head of Quality control, which landed him in Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine. He started an independent record label GBM RECORDS with his brother, Jeff, in 1994 to release his music. Now; Andy lives just outside of Nashville, TN....and his music (over 800 songs) is available worldwide on all digital outlets. He is a finalist in the Fall 2024 and Winter 2025 "World Songwriter Awards" for “Best Rock Song”.
