The University of Minnesota's Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) connects, incubates, and champions a thriving interdisciplinary community that transforms research and collaboration. As one of the leading systemwide, interdisciplinary institutes at the University of Minnesota, we invest in scholars, artists, practitioners, and students from any discipline throughout their careers by providing time, space, and resources.
In addition to core programs like fellowships that support research and creative inquiry, the IAS leads public events that bring together scholars, artists, activists, and community leaders to discuss the most pressing issues of our time. Our current event series is called the (In)Justice Series. The Institute has also partnered with the Bat of Minerva, a local-access cable TV show specializing in "the art of the autobiographical interview" to document the lives of creative and thoughtful people from academics to farmers to electroacoustic musicians.
