Surf rock enthusiasts formed Johnny Utah in 2015 while living in Orem, Utah. Band members originating from various states all along the west found a common affinity for guitar driven, heavy reverb surf sounds. They released their first single Ali With An I as part of an Avocaudio compilation. In 2018, they released an EP called From the Basement of the Alamo - EP.
