The 1990's are considered the 'Golden Age' of Hip Hop. There was an incredible creative energy and spirt in the music and culture. In Englewood NJ, a suburb of Harlem NYC and home of Sugar Hill Records, there was a collective of teenagers who called themselves 'The Melting Pot'. They came from various backgrounds; Black, White, Puerto Rican, Filipino, and mixtures of. They built their own studio and created conscious music beyond their years. Like many dreams deferred, lack of guidance and conviction ultimately sent all members on their own separate paths in the real world. This page is a snapshot of that untold experience which resulted in over 100 unreleased songs.
