This channel is dedicated to cataloging and restoring the musical legacy of Elder Solomon Vance (1899-?). Solomon was an itinerant preacher from Mississippi whose recordings were considered 'profane' by the church and 'dangerous' by the authorities. After his unexplained disappearance in 1952, his original tapes were lost for decades. The Solomon Vance Archive uses audio restoration technologies to bring to light what remains of his voice and guitar. Each video is a fragment of a story we are still trying to piece together.
