Welcome Gen X! -Many Gen Xers grew up during a time when the world felt less structured. The generation is often described as one that had to "raise themselves" to a certain extent. Divorce rates were rising, both parents often worked, and latchkey kids were common. As a result, Gen X developed a strong sense of independence and resilience. -The phrase "generation of latchkey kids" is often used to describe this generation, implying they were the first to have access to technology, but were also left to their own devices when their parents were busy. -Gen X grew up with a very distinct pop culture that has shaped them. The late 80s and early 90s were filled with iconic movies, music, and television shows that many still look back on fondly. Think "The Breakfast Club," "Seinfeld," Nirvana, and "Friends." There’s a sense of pride that comes with knowing they were part of creating, or at least experiencing, such a culturally pivotal time.
