Avi Mashiah is a musician and a established Doctor and surgeon. It’s his amazing journey in these two fields that took him on a rare musical worldwide path, one you don’t hear about every day.
Avi was born into the world of music, his father was a renowned cantor. As a kid, the Beatles and classic rock songs were always playing. In 2012 Avi witnessed Chris Cornell on stage for the first time. Since then, Cornell’s music has been the inspiration and a significant part of Avi’s life. In 2016 Cornell played an acoustic show in Tel Aviv with musician Bryan Gibson. With the help of Cornell’s staff, Avi and Cornell started communicating and two months after his last stop in Israel, Avi traveled with his 11-year-old son to meet Cornell on his birthday. It was backstage in the city of Spokane, Washington, where they met and celebrated life and music. It was Cornell’s last birthday celebration.
