Welcome to the Firewind Wildlife Refuge! Founded in 2017 by herbalist Ogonslav Firewind, southwest of Philadelphia along the Delaware River. In late 2023, FWR permanently moved to 40 acres of rural farmland in West Virginia. FWR strives to create a healthy, balanced ecosystem while also educating the public on how to create a sustainable environment that promotes both the natural wildlife, as well as self-sufficiency through gardening, homesteading, and backyard farming. FWR is a certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation, The Nature Conservatory, The Cornell Lab, and the Butterfly Institute. FWR is unlicensed and managed through volunteers.
