Ansja Ferreira is a freelance journalist and public relations practitioner from Bloemfontein. In 1990, she obtained a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Communication Science, majoring in Journalism, from the University of the Free State. She is also a qualified life coach, holding a Life Coaching Institute Diploma in Life Coaching (Dip LC) and is a yoga instructor. She completed her Master's degree in Creative Writing at the University of the Free State in 2019. She was recognized as the Vodacom Journalist of the Year 2011 for Central Region Consumer Journalism and was a finalist for the 2011 ATKV Mediaveertjies in the Financial Reporting category. She is also the winner of the Penguin-Random Prize for the best creative writing student in the first year of the Department of Afrikaans and Dutch in 2018 at the University of the Free State. Her hobbies include singing, writing and translating songs, writing blog entries, photography, gardening and yoga.
