J.Pope is a Chicago born, Dolton raised 27 yr old artist who is not afraid to step outside of what today's youth consider to be MC'S. He started writing when he was 13 yrs old and accredits a lot of what he knows today to his predecessors. With influences from juggernauts like 2 Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Bone Thugz -N- Harmony, Eazy E, Tribe Called Quest, Twista, Kanye West, Eminem and Lil Wayne he says had a lot to do with the artist he is today. He grew up in a era where he says, "Hip-Hop was still Hip-Hop and not just Rap" also saying "no shot to any other artist who used these opportunities to their advantage but that's not what I'm about. Pope says he speaks reality to people and refuses to sugar coat or downplay what is going on around and in his own day to day life. There're are currently no details on an official release date for his upcoming Mixtape "The Pope Theory: Chapter One", but he is hoping for a Late Fall 2016 release.
