The Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden is the only frost-free, natural conservation habitat, botanical garden and tropical forest in the continental United States. Our education department is a collaborative effort between the Key West Botanical Garden and the Monroe County School District, which serves over 4000 children from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our program actively involves students in hands-on exploration and learning. Students become “scientists” and collect information to answer questions about the world around them. Adults will enjoy our Speaker Series, special events, yoga classes and self-guided nature walks. Adults may also enjoy becoming one of our Garden Guardians; it’s a great way to learn the best techniques for the Keys and choose the right plants for a strong, native garden.
