Kojo Easy Damptey is an award-winning singer/songwriter born and raised in Ghana. He fuses different genres of music - hip-hop, highlife music, soul music and funk- to create what he calls Afro-Soul.
His debut album "Daylight Robbery" was released in October 2013 and featured the likes of Canadian Winter, Sara London, Lee Reed and Mother Tareka. The record won Pop recording of the year at the 2015-Hamilton Music Awards. In 2018 he released his sophomore album "Giants: Stories of Existence, Resilience & Resistance". The album took a decolonizing creative process aimed at using music to capture the myriad experiences of people of color.
Kojo is set to release his third album "Radical Thoughts" on September 8th, 2023. This album features a list of Hamilton based producers like Onglish, Young Dave Bangin, ttwwrrss, and Mother Tareka. Kojo ups his lyrical repertoire on this album by marrying his singing chops with an Afrobeats and hip-hop tracks that will keep you intrigued.
