Carl was first signed to Mercury Polygram (now Anthem Entertainment) at just 22 years old, as leader singer of Coney Hatch, opening for Iron Maiden and Judas Priest's North American tours. He later forged a solo career and as a staff songwriter for Universal Music. Carl became lead singer of Canadian icons, The Guess Who, for eight years in total and toured in April Wine for four years. Carl barely survived 52 injuries including traumatic brain injury from a car accident in 2008. His comeback is the stuff of legends. He's an inspirational speaker and tours solo, also a duo with Sean Kelly as Northern Strum and in his five piece band Wild North Rock. His book "Strange Way To Live" was published by Dundurn Press in 2015. He's recorded nine solo albums and seven albums with Coney Hatch.
