Sicilian acoustic duo composed of singer-songwriters Alessandra Pirrone and Giulio Matheson. Formed in 2015, the duo crafts music deeply rooted in Sicilian folk traditions while blending diverse influences from world and acoustic genres. Beija Flor’s music reflects themes of friendship, cultural harmony, and their love for Sicily’s landscapes, such as Mount Etna. The duo gained recognition with performances at regional and national events, including the prestigious EtnainBlues Festival, Premio Bianca d’Aponte, and Premio Andrea Parodi. Beija Flor’s debut EP “Kunene”, was released in 2018 and is characterized by soulful, warm, “wooden” tones and often centers around Sicilian roots, with a gypsy-inspired feel that adds a sense of adventure and cultural exploration to their sound . The duo is currently working on the production of their first studio album.
