The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) is a non-profit, nonpolitical, non-religious organisation whose mission is to assist those who have been harmed in the mental health system and to eradicate abuse committed under the guise of mental health. It works to ensure that patient and consumer protections are established and upheld, due to the serious human rights violations that continue to occur within the mental health system. CCHR is a world-wide organisation and the national office for Australia is based in Sydney.
