Chung received B.S. (Eng.) from California Institute of Technology (Caltech, 1973) and Ph.D. (Materials Sci.) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1977). She is SUNY Distinguished Professor, U. Buffalo, State University of New York (SUNY).
