'Hoobieu' (who - be - you) started as a bass and djembe duet with Chris Charma on bass and the beautiful, charming Zanna Beckman on Drum as an original southern folk duet out of Jax Beach FL playing as far as Ft. Meyer FL. The name was the creation of Zanna looking for a concept that was easy, yet unusual and having an effect that would be remembered by fans throughout. Chris Charma envisioned the spelling into a single word that seemed correct in pronunciation and also defining. The duet has long been separated now, but for Chris Charma 'Hoobieu' will always exist as a reminder of the time Hoobieu was in its prime. Original videos of Hoobieu performances are removed due to conflictions of the name Hoobieu being used in future band endeavors with other band members on other links.
