Exotic DVM with a focus and passion for Reptile and Amphibian Medicine. Owner of Colorful Collared Lizard Ranch and working with collared lizards since 1998, a private breeder and hobbyist since 2006. I first started my passion working with Aquaflames learning the ropes of breeding and maintaining adequate bloodlines to have unrelated pairs over 15 years later. I then broadened my work adding Yellowheads and worked closely on my New Mexico localities creating the “Lightning Yellow NM”, “Peacock Blue NM”, “Wasabi White NM”, “Fancy Spotted NM”, and “Aquamarine” lines. I now work with several other species and localities and even have published the Husbandry and Captive Propagation of the Eastern Collared Lizard and established their blood biochemistry reference intervals. In addition, I have worked on studying vitamin A (retinol) levels in collared lizards in recent years. The goal for this channel is to provide up to date husbandry, care, and answer questions for reptile hobbyists!
