Formed in Fort Worth, Texas in 2004 by guitarist Joe Doyen and bassist Tom Scott jamming in the garage, joined in time by percussionists Vern Bryder and Marty Butorac, and named after a favorite cigar, CurlyHead developed a fusion of blues, rock and country in a rhythmic acoustic guitar style, driven by electric bass/lead riffs and punchy conga beats. The band performed at parties, bars & festivals around the North Texas and Southern New Mexico areas, and in 2010 was voted one of the top 5 garage bands in Texas and #54 in the USA (getoutofthegarage presented by Converse).
