Matt Brittain has been the Organist/Director of Music at Front Street United Methodist Church in Burlington, NC since July 2016. In May 2016, he earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati – College-Conservatory of Music. He has studied organ with Florence Jowers, Timothy Albrecht, and Michael Unger and choral conducting with Brett Scott. While in Cincinnati, he was the organ scholar at the historic Calvary Episcopal Church, where he had the opportunity to assist Director of Music, and noted American choral composer, Howard Helvey. Previous degrees include a Master of Sacred Music from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in music from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Matt is also a certified public accountant. Before pursuing advanced degrees in music, he worked as a staff accountant at the firm of Lawing, Matthews & Company, PA in Hickory, NC.
