Javier Ortiz (Zitrovision) is a Puerto Rican-born handpan player and producer based in Spain. Rooted in the rhythms of his Latin heritage and soulful groove, his playing emphasizes a deep connection between body, pulse, and melody. He is known for pushing the handpan’s traditional boundaries—exploring the instrument vertically and unconventionally to unlock new harmonic and rhythmic possibilities.
In just three years, Javier has moved from studying with masters to becoming a distinct voice in the global community. His 2025 deluxe double album, Waves of Resonance, showcases his eclectic style, blending world music, jazz fusion, and meditative sounds alongside a full ensemble of woodwinds, strings, and synths.
In addition to his solo work and his neo-soul duo with partner Sealskin, Javier performs across Europe. From the Swiss Handpan Festival to the Pangonia Gathering, Zitrovision continues to expand the expressive language of the handpan.
