Born in the Dominican Republic on February 17, 1989, DJ Joan, also known as El 5to Elemento, emigrated to New York City in 2008. Initially passionate about baseball, Joan also had a musical background from a young age. In New York, he learned the art of mixing and music production, quickly making a name for himself in the city's nightclubs.
His talent honed on the streets led him to work with NYC radio stations, where he became one of the leading Latin radio DJs in the United States. He has been the official DJ at major events such as the Home Run Derby After Party, concerts at Madison Square Garden, and events at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field. Currently, DJ Joan is a prominent figure on MEGA 97.9 FM. Becoming the King of the Nights in NYC, with his prime time slot of 7pm Monday to Friday and 10am on Saturdays. His charisma and talent have allowed him to become one of the favorite DJs in several states of the United States, continuing his growing career in the artistic world.
