Super Space
Boldly going where no one has gone before!
In Theoretical Physics (Superspace)
In theoretical physics, specifically in supersymmetry theories, "superspace" is an extension of conventional spacetime (which has four dimensions: three spatial and one temporal).
What is it? It is an abstract mathematical space that includes additional dimensions called fermionic coordinates or Grassmann coordinates.
In Science Fiction (Hyperspace)
In science fiction works, "superspace" is often synonymous with hyperspace.
What is it? An alternative dimension or plane of existence that allows for faster-than-light travel (warp speed).
Purpose: To circumvent the limitations of conventional physics (Einstein's Relativity) and allow for timely interstellar travel.
Examples: Present in franchises such as Star Wars and Star Trek.
