Opus Vitae Construction is a (mostly) residential construction firm in Portland, OR. We emphasize two strains of construction projects: thoughtfully-conceived, well-planned renovations; and high-performance and healthy new homes. That sentence needs jargon unpacking! What do we mean by thoughtfully-conceived renovation? It starts with the Architect or Interior Design team, client, and us working in tandem to discover client values and express them as a set of comprehensive construction documents. These plans allow our team of artisan craft workers to deliver the desired outcomes! And what are high-performance and healthy new homes? We may not think of them this way, but when we build a home we create a unique indoor environment that we want to be distinct from the outside in some ways while inviting beautiful elements in. To do this well takes a deep understanding of physics and building science; and an artistic appreciation of beautiful and healthy materials and forms.
