The Cinema Show is an electronic rock band created by Doug Skelton which fuses original music to video archives to tell stories from the past - for example, great sporting and political events or technological advances. Initially a solo project with Doug playing all instruments using loops and backing tracks, the band has expanded over the last couple of years with Dave Skelton on electronic drums & percussion and Beth Moss on keyboards. 2023 saw the release of the band's third album “Superpower Games” exploring some of the key events of the 1980s, from the culture of MTV and fashions of the day to the warming of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall, the contrasting Olympic Games in Moscow and Los Angeles, plus the arrival of the mobile phone. 2025 sees the band exploring the world of technology and how it has impacted our lives. Live performances feature the band playing along to their cinematic backdrop. So sit back, relax and enjoy an evening with The Cinema Show!
