'mitten' is a musical duo from the rural town of virgil, ontario, ca. blending elements of psych, doom, pop and sludge. consisting of biological brothers; bennett and evan wiens, both members now reside downtown saint catharines; a breeding ground for hardcore and hardcore-adjacent projects as well as experimental alternative music represented by a tight-knit and ever active diy art scene. having been members of psych and punk projects themselves w/ hundreds of shows worth of xp and a handful of trips logged touring the country. 'mitten' is a recent live project but the brothers have been actively releasing home recordings under their label 'i hate it' since 2016 from their parents basement in virgil, producing their own physicals via taped over cassettes, burned cd-r's w/ hand folded jackets. both members completed art programs at marilyn i. walker studying visual art, graphic design, film photography and animation and have been steadily creating art and music for over a decade.
