My life has had highs, lows, victories, failures, faith, collapse, and everything in between. But the last fracture changed something permanently. Some things happen so brutally that life does not continue the same afterward.
A lot of people wear masks because they never learned how to simply be themselves. I loved someone who meant everything to me, and instead of watching her heal, I had a front row seat to her own destruction. I warned her. I begged her to stop running from herself. She chose lies, attention, double lives, and validation over truth.
Some people say “I love you” while giving themselves away in the worst possible ways to anyone willing to use them for the moment. That kind of betrayal changes you.
