We are the central transfer and outreach office for the German groups of the four LHC experiments (ALICE, ATLAS, CMS, LHCb) at CERN. At 29 German universities and research institutions, scientists—working in interdisciplinary collaboration with engineers, IT experts, and others—study the fundamental building blocks of matter and the basic laws of the universe within the framework of the four LHC research priorities. We make their work more visible, communicate research results to the public, and promote knowledge transfer to industry—from detector development to data analysis—so that the expertise of German LHC groups is widely accessible and impactful. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) as part of the ErUM research priorities, we strengthen the connection between fundamental research, society, and industry.
